Enjoying the Warmth!

Since this last Winter was so dreadful, we are especially thankful for the warm weather lately!  My boys LOVE being outside, so that's where we hangout.

Recently we went to Wheeler Farm in Sandy.  It's so great, my kids love it (and it's great for pictures)!

Toby wasn't in the mood for pictures as you will see below.  He is never in the mood for anything that makes him hold still for more than 1 second.

Love these pictures "capturing" this precious moment.

Toby got booted out of the picture so he could run free!

Tate was in LOVE with this tree that he could climb all over.  It reminded him of "The Jungle Book."  This boy loves climbing.  It is so fun to see him explore and get SO excited about new things.

Earlier this Spring we ventured North to Hill Air Force Museum.  It was also a hit for the kids.

My little Aviator.

Another recent adventure is when we had a huge pile of mulch dumped in our front yard.  The boys were filthy.  Toby started to look like he had Hitler's mustache.  These pictures don't even do it justice.  They rolled all over in this mulch for hours.

Speaking of Toby. He's going to kill me. He is the biggest rascal around!  He is not interested in toys or TV, he is only interested in getting into TROUBLE!! I was telling some friends the other day that maybe we should be baptizing our children at birth because I think this little stinker knows right from wrong!  He needs a little Holy Water!  When he is getting into things he shouldn't he gets the cutest grin on his face....oh, yes, he knows!  I can't have any of my bar stools out anymore because he crawls up them and plants himself in my kitchen sink and gets water everywhere.
Outside, he is on a mission to pull out any living plant around.
He loves toilet water.
He loves throwing stuff at people.

But, I think I will keep him because he also gives the best kisses around!
He gives great cuddles.
At times, he reminds me of an old man (and I love old men...that's why I work at the VA).
I love when he says "Mamama".

Just love these two!

Long overdue...

I have been going back and forth...should I continue blogging or not?? Well, I miss it. I don't actually miss this part: the loading pictures and typing, but I miss seeing my darling kids on the computer screen.  So, I'm not committing to "regular" blogging, but I will try harder to keep a little up-to-date.
That said, I am not going to recap the last 4 months (since that was last time I blogged), I will just do a little update on my little loves.

Toby:

-Now 17 months old!  Can't believe this.
-He is more serious that Tate ever was, but then there's the goofy side.  He is a tease and loves to tilt his head back and laugh.  I live for these moments.
-He loves to be chased.

-He is an excellent sleeper. Still taking 2 naps (I will hold on to this as long as possible)! He is quite attached to that binky. That should be fun to get rid of someday! He rarely wakes up before 7:30am.

-Sometimes I look at him and think he is Irish.  In good lighting he definitely has some red hair and I'm not sure where he got those hazel eyes.
-Loves his milk. Loves throwing food. Insists on eating everything, I mean everything by himself.

-Gives the best cuddles when he wakes up from his naps. I could hold him all day. Sometimes I wake him up before I go to bed to get one last cuddle.

-Learning to love electronics.
-Lately, he has been cranky in the late afternoons...teething? Who knows? He just wants to be held. Makes for difficult cooking. I still love him though!

Tate:

 -He is now 3 1/2.
-Happy, spunky little guy.

-Was a nudist for a good 2 weeks, couldn't keep his clothes on.  He would run around the house saying, "I'm naked!"  He would even sleep naked. Is this a boy thing??

-Loves playing with legos, but he is getting a little tired of them since he played with them EVERY day this winter.  It's been a long, long winter! He keeps saying, "Mom, it's Spring!"

-Loves getting spoiled at Frompa & Frompa's house (aka: Grandma & Grandpas).

-When Toby wakes up in the morning, Tate will go read him The Very Hungry Caterpillar book (he has it memorized) and play with him until mom or dad comes up.  He is very sweet to his brother (most of the time).

-Still takes an afternoon nap (most days). Thank goodness! I know it will be gone soon.
Have you ever noticed how soft and flexible kids (and babies) ears are after they have slept on them?? Weird I know, but I love to kiss their warm, soft ears.

I am so blessed to have the cutest little guys around!

Thanksgiving and more!

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving until dinner rolled around.  Tate had been complaining about his stomach hurting (which he never does), so he was resting on the couch next to the kitchen table. He didn't feel like eating.  About 5 minutes into dinner, Tate starts throwing up all over my mother-in-law's couch, pillows, and carpet.  Could he have waited 10-15 minutes until dinner was over??  Anyway, we cleaned puke while everyone finished eating. Luckily, after resting for a few minutes he felt better!  Kids make life a little more interesting.

This kid is constantly at my legs wanting to be held.  Love it and hate it at the same time.

We were lucky enough to get Papa out of the nursing home for a few hours to join us for dinner.

Tate on his short little rest after the episode.

I was lucky enough to get the stomach flu a day later, I was sick as a dog.  Then Brett got it the day after that.  It was a fun Thanksgiving weekend of illnesses.  Made us all VERY thankful for our health!

I haven't blogged for so long I felt I needed to do a little update on our little guys:

TOBY (14 months):

-He's a rascal, and mischievous, and sly, and cute as ever.
-He is walking all the time now, started about 1 week ago.
-Could eat 5 bananas per day.
-Loves to bonk his head on things.  He's a little bulldog.
-Over the past month he started being a cuddle bug. I love it!
-His 1st word:  Nana (I told you he LOVES bananas)
-Won't watch TV.
-Is a great sleeper. Takes 2 naps and sleeps for 12 hrs per night!
-Loves throwing everything off his high chair to watch his dad squirm while the crumbs fly.
-Tate calls him, "Tootee"

TATE:

-Wants a "pirate ship, and a dumper, and a digger, and a bulldozer, and marble works, and a car that shoots water from Santa." That's all.
-He can't stop picking his nose! (Anyone have tips??)
-Will never be potty trained!  He will do really well going pee, but the poop... oh the poop. He will not go in the potty.  Lately while wearing diapers he will ask, "mommy, do I have a diaper on? " Then I say yes.  Then I can tell he is peeing!  He is soooo ready.  We are waiting until after the holidays to cut the cord completely.
-He all boy. Very busy and rumbustious.
-He says the cutest prayers, always prays that "we won't fall."

Hope everyone is having a good Christmas season!

Swimming lessons in reverse

In the month of June Tate was doing swimming lessons. He was a little scared of the water but doing pretty good in the parent-tot class.  Then, right before his last class this happened. We went to the Bountiful temple to walk around.  We were having a great time taking pictures and such. Of course Tate was greatly amused by the fountain.

Tate reached in a little too close to the water and in he went.   Completely submerged.  I came to the rescue and pulled him out as he was screaming/coughing/freaking out.  Of course there were plenty people around to witness what awesome parents we are and how we keep such a close eye on our kids.  It was a bit embarrassing hauling out this soaking wet child. People were probably thinking we did our own baptism or something. But, since I had camera on hand I had to take a picture.  I'm a good mom.

Needless to say, swimming lessons didn't go so well the next day.  We were back at square one.

When One O'Clock Rolls Around...

Everyday around 1 o'clock we go upstairs to find Stink-a-wink (Tate's stinky blanket, yes he still has it, I won't get into that right now).  Toby thinks it is really funny to walk up the stairs, don't know why. So both the boys laugh as we go up the stairs to Tate's room. When we get there Tate always says, "Can Toby sleep with me?"  So I lay Toby in the bed and we all laugh. After they roll around for a few minutes and we talk about how "nice and comfy" Tate's bed is, Tate says good night to Toby. Tate takes his daily 2 hour nap, Toby takes his nap (in his own crib that is) and I have a little freedom.   This is by far my favorite moment every day. Not the napping part (though I have to admit I love that too!). I just love the giggling happiness that comes before the daily nap. I don't want to forget it, so finally I made myself document this moment.

4 Months

Boy, oh boy, this little guy is growing too fast!   I think he is the cutest, most kissable baby ever!  His latest:

-His cheeks get fuller and more kissable every day.
-Not really interested in rolling or moving much. He just likes to chill and relax.
-Pretty good napper.
-Has the best smile and giggle.
-Loves his crib.
-Not sure his weight yet (appt next week) I know he is over 15 lbs.
-Gets called Tobes most of the time.
-He smells like love.
-Lights up when he looks at his daddy...sweetest thing ever.

Love you baby boy!
