Summer Recap

I am not a summer blogger. I just can't keep up!  So, here's my yearly attempt to document a little of what we have been up to the past 2-3 months (hope you are ready for a lot of pictures!):

 We went to Bear Lake:

My dad trying to get Tate ready to start waterskiing. Lasted about, hmm, 5 seconds.

So, he worked on Toby instead who lasted a bit longer.

Tate freaking out because his hands are dirty. Like father, like son.

We went to Midway and visited with our favorite person, Aunt Shell:

We threw a million balls into the raquetball court and watched as Avie went crazy to pick them all up.

We swam.

Well, some people swam, Tate would rather hang out in the infant area.

Toby's cousin Maxwell has a thing for Toby. He just couldn't get enough. So adorable.

Attempted some family pictures.

We went on a little campout and roasted hotdogs and marshmellows:

Toby had a blast hanging out in the playpen eating hotdog buns.

 The happiest camper.

 Always diggin and dumpin.

 Attempting to feed Toby babyfood.

 Went on a little hike.

Got a little dirty.

We have also been:

Growing grass. Not fun, but finally looking more like a yard.

 Going to the fair.

 Getting into things.

Playing in the area that will be a sandbox very soon!

 And, getting very red faced.

My mom took me to Wicked!

Watched hours of Olympics, then went to the high school track to have our own races and realized how slow we are.

Brett and his OCD. Toby tolerating being vacuumed.

We went to Farmington Days to watch the fireworks.

Went on a hike up Adam's Canyon

Tate had to collect things while on the hike, he loved it.

-My sweet baby getting more rascal like and less baby, boo!

So sad the summer is coming to an end but I will enjoy some cooler days.  I love fall and birthdays!  Our entire family has birthdays in the fall, starting next week when Tate turns 3!  More on that next week!

Me vs "The Pfiefferhorn"

and I won!!!  (Barely).

The Pfiefferhorn.  11,326 ft.  The highest I have ever been.

I have been wanting to do this hike for a long time because it is Brett's personal favorite.  5 years later we finally do it.  This was my 1st hike of this year (not counting little 1 milers with the boys).  It was hard, but worth it.  My legs are finally back to normal; they were sore for days.

Before 6:50am

About 1 hr into the hike the camera which said it was fully charged when we left said "low battery".  When we got to the knife ridge and I finally got to see the mountain goats (I have always wanted to see these cute white furry animals) the camera said "battery empty."  This is about the time a few tears entered the scene.  My  legs were jello, I was on the knife ridge with cliffs that were scaring me, and I wouldn't get to document that I actually did it.

Luckily, when we got to the top the camera mustered up enough juice to give us a few pictures. I was happy again. It was absolutely amazing on top.

This pictures doesn't do it any justice.  The knife ridge just before the final climb.
These aren't the goats that we saw, this is from one of Brett's past hikes, but I'm sure some of the goats we saw are related to these ones.  They are so amazing to watch climb on these cliffs. Hooves on cliffs?? I don't understand.

The camera also let me take a few pictures of some flowers before it completely died.
